The season premiere of “Saturday Night Live” made history on Saturday when musical guest Kacey Musgraves performed naked for the audience.
“She was nude. Precautions were taken, and this was the first time it’s happened on the show,” Musgraves’s publicist told Variety.

Musgraves performed her single “Justified,” from her new studio album “Star-Crossed,” fully nude aside from a pair of cowboy boots and a strategically placed acoustic guitar.
In a symbolic parallel, Musgraves had previously told Zane Lowe in an Apple Music interview that following her divorce from fellow country singer Ruston Kelly — an inspiration behind some of the album’s themes — she felt vulnerable being single again and where she was in career at the time.
“It was kind of my first few steps into exploring being a single 30-something-year-old person, after a marriage,” Musgraves said, adding, “After a huge point in my career, more notoriety, it was a really naked place.”
