The T-shirt was designed by Allan “Gut” Terk, an artist and Hells Angel, who was “a key figure in California counterculture in the 1960s.”
Bo Bushnell, who runs the Outlaw Archive, a collection of 1960s motorcycle club and California outlaw momentos, was the winning bidder. With the additional fees, Bushnell spent a total of $19,315.80 on the shirt.
“We just did this to keep the memory of #GutTerk alive,” Outlaw Archive wrote on Instagram, “and to keep his history together under one roof.”
