Rapper Kanye West’s apparel line has settled a lawsuit with Los Angeles County.
Yeezy Apparel will pay a $950,000 settlement after the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed a lawsuit over the company’s shipping delays and false advertisements.
“Online consumers are entitled to protection against unwarranted fees and unreasonably long waits for purchases to arrive on their doorsteps,” L.A. County District Attorney George Gascón (D) said in a news release. “We will enforce state and federal laws governing online shopping in Los Angeles County.”
The lawsuit alleged that Yeezy Apparel had made “untrue or misleading statements” about its ability to process and ship orders during a set timeline and had violated California state law repeatedly, which requires that online shopping items be delivered within 30 days.

The settlement prohibits Yeezy Apparel from making untrue or misleading statements about shipping or refund time frames and requires that the company follow laws in issuing delay notices and refund money to future customers who don’t receive their products on time.
The $950,000 settlement includes $200,000 in civil penalties for each of the four district attorneys’ offices involved in the lawsuit, a $50,000 restitution for the Consumer Protection Prosecution Trust Fund and $25,000 for the four district attorneys’ offices investigation costs.
The company didn’t admit wrongdoing in the settlement, and West has not commented on the settlement at this time.
