Anheuser-Busch is recognizing National Preparedness Month by partnering with American Humane to expand emergency preparedness and disaster relief efforts to also encompass pets.
Anheuser-Busch, which has a history of partnering with the American Red Cross for disaster relief, will be donating $200,000 to American Humane to aid with pet rescue efforts, as well as expand its emergency drinking water distribution to provide to pets as well.
“Our commitment to disaster relief has always been built on a foundation of preparedness to ensure that we always stand ready to support our communities in times of need,” Colleen Lucas, vice president of Corporate Social Responsibility at Anheuser-Busch, said in a press release. “Just as we prepare our emergency drinking water throughout the year, we recognize that we all must do our part as individuals to prepare to protect our entire family – including our pets who can’t plan for themselves.”

To ensure it isn’t only helping after a disaster hits, for the month of September Anheuser-Busch will be posting “Prepare for Your Pets” tips on its social media pages. This campaign will offer advice on how to best prepare for when natural disasters strike so that the entire family, pets included, will be safe.
“American Humane has been on the front lines protecting animals and saving lives in times of crisis and natural disasters for more than 100 years,” said Robin Ganzert, president and CEO of American Humane. “Ensuring you have an evacuation plan that includes your pets will not only help save the lives of our beloved animals but also the lives of owners, volunteers, and first-responders. We are grateful for Anheuser-Busch’s support in helping to communicate this important message.”
In the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, Anheuser-Busch has donated more than 400,000 cans of water to affected communities. The company has donated an additional $1 million to the American Red Cross’s Annual Disaster Giving Program so it can offer immediate aid to communities in need.
