A Boston Terrier is being heralded for saving its human baby sister in Connecticut.
Jeff and Kelly Dowling had put their 9-month-old daughter, who had a cold, to bed Tuesday night when their 8-year-old dog Henry began behaving strangely. The Dowlings told “Good Morning America” that Henry began barging into the baby’s room.
“He was head-butting the door open and going into her room and standing there,” Kelly Dowling told “Good Morning America.” “And every time I shooed him away, he would go back in as soon as my back was turned.”
Startled by his repetitive actions, the Dowlings entered their daughters room to find she was struggling to breathe.

“She wasn’t clearing her airway,” said Kelly. “She started to turn blue and go rigid and she just really couldn’t — she couldn’t get air, couldn’t get any oxygen.”
The Dowlings transported their daughter to a local hospital where doctors were able to clear her airway and stabilize her. Now, the couple are praising their courageous pup for alerting them with his actions.
“I don’t know what would have happened if he hadn’t woken her,” Kelly wrote on Twitter. “We don’t deserve dogs.”
Thanks for all the well wishes, everyone. The baby is doing much better today and we are home with Henry, who bravely held the fort all night even though he is scared of the dark. pic.twitter.com/dKem0kXQzs
