A group of Sikh hikers are being credited with the rescue of two men who became stranded in a waterfall pool in British Columbia, Canada.
NBC News reports Kuljinder Kinda and his four friends were hiking in Golden Ears Provincial Park last week when they discovered two hikers stuck on a rock by the edge of a river. The two men reportedly slipped on a rock and fell into a pool below the waterfall. The hikers were unable to pull themselves out as fast-moving water rushed by.

With no cellphone service to call for help, the men decided to use their turbans and other articles of clothing to construct a makeshift rope to throw out to the hikers.
“We were trying to think how we could get them out, but we didn’t know how to,” Kinda told NBC News.
“So we walked for about 10 minutes to find help and then came up with the idea to tie our turbans together” he said.
Viral video of the rescue shows the men pull one hiker out of harm’s way using the more than 30-foot long safety line.
“In Sikhi, we are taught to help someone in any way we can with anything we have, even our turban,” Kinda told the outlet.
