Released through the show’s nonprofit organization Sesame Workshop, the video, titled ‘Proud of Your Eyes,’ features characters Wes and Alan helping their friend Analyn, a Filipino American, after she is bullied for the shape of her eyes.
The character’s then sing a song together, saying, “Your eyes tell the story of your family. They show where you came from, and how you came to be. The color, the shape and the size should always make you proud of your eyes.”

Violence and hate speech against Asian Americans rose to the forefront following the coronavirus pandemic, and the video aims to teach children against such speech and stereotypes.
Earlier this month, an episode of “Sesame Street” featured its first gay married couple in honor of Pride Month.
