Cuomo resigned following multiple harassment allegations and the release of a report conducted by the New York Office of the Attorney General. During his farewell address, Cuomo said he was a victim of “intense political pressure and media frenzy.”

Hochul, a 62-year-old Democrat who has also served in the past as a member of Congress for Buffalo, had her ceremonial swearing in Tuesday morning. She is expected to meet with legislative leaders before holding a press conference at 3 p.m.

She is the state’s 57th governor.
