According to a new survey from Groupon, 94 percent of women who own small businesses are happy being their own company.
October represents National Women-Owned Small Business Month, a celebration of female entrepreneurs, some of whom are from the top states for minority women to start a business like New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, and California, according to Groupon.

Of the 600 women small business owners who were surveyed by Groupon,
about 54 percent say they are held to different standards than men, who have more capital, mentors, and are taken seriously by their contemporaries.
About 53 percent of respondents to the Groupon survey say it is harder for women to balance family life than men.
Sixty-four percent of women are also saying that they are facing the same challenges they faced during the height of the pandemic.
Women in the poll – 76 percent – also said they work longer than 8 hours a day, with the average saying that they work 12 hours a day.
Lastly, 64 percent of the female respondents said that their hard work paid off, saying they make as much or more than they did when they initially started their businesses.
One in 10 women says their businesses would do better if people knew they were women-owned. In response, Groupon is working to promote women-owned businesses this month and beyond.
