As the Group of Seven (G-7) weekend summit concluded, Greta Thunberg was not pleased that the seven richest leaders of the world were feeding on lobster and steak when she hoped they would be prioritizing conserving the planet.
The young climate activist took to Twitter to signal her disapproval, sarcastically saying leaders have done a great job spending money on fossil fuels that they earned a “steak-and-lobster-BBQ-celebration” at their “G-7 resort,” The Independent reported.

As Changing America previously reported, all seven nations have broken their own climate commitments. Wealthy nations have invested nearly $16 billion in funding for low- and middle-income countries’ projects between 2017 and 2019, a new report shows.
However, the leaders are looking to create a new pledge to raise $100 billion to help developing nations cut their emissions, as well as to keep global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
“We had hoped that the leaders of the world’s richest nations would come away from this week having put their money their mouth is,” Catherine Pettengell, director at Climate Action Network told Reuters.
This year’s summit, which prioritized environmental change, took place in Cornwall, U.K., When Prime Minister Boris Johnson took a private jet to the event, it stirred some controversy.
