As Changing America previously reported, no, it’s not Clark Kent. Clark, or Kal-El of Krypton, and Lois Lane have a son by the name of Jon Kent who is currently the reigning Superman while his father is away on an intergalactic mission.

The announcement was made on National Coming Out Day, Oct. 11, and somewhat took users on Twitter by storm.
Some users were visibly upset that a long-standing character is now out of the closet, while others are either embracing the news or mocking those triggered by the LBGTQ+ inclusion.

Superman’s love interest is Jay Nakamura, a hacktivist and news reporter who also has powers.
The creator of this No. 1 series is Tom Taylor, who told The New York Times in an interview, “The idea of replacing Clark Kent with another straight white savior felt like a missed opportunity.”

There seems to be some confusion among certain fans who think Clark is cheating on Lois; as is the case with Arizona state Senator Wendy Rogers (R) who said, “Superman loves Louis [sic] Lane. Period. Hollywood is trying to make Superman gay and he is not. Just rename the new version Thooperman so we can all know the difference and avoid seeing it.”
