The baby died at Maimonides Hospital, and sources say the dog was taken into custody by Animal Care Centers of NYC, The New York Daily News reported.

Police questioned the parents to determine if any laws, in particular child endangerment, were broken.

However, no one was immediately arrested or charged, and the New York Police Department is still investigating what led up to the dog attack.
