Recent video footage caught a rare massive grouping of more than a hundred humpback whales feeding on small bait fish off the coast of Australia.
Sapphire Coastal Adventures owner Simon Miller and his crew spotted the amazing production near the coast of Bermagui in New South Wales and captured the megapod’s activity via drone video.
“The big smell, fish everywhere, whales busting up through it. Now the whales on the outside were slapping their tails, sorting of herding the bait in together and then the whales coming up and sort of busting up all over the place,” Miller told CBS News. “It’s pretty incredible stuff.”

Although humpback whale activity is common this time of year in the region as they migrate north to mate, Miller said he’d never seen the large grouping of whales until last year, per the outlet.
