The Guardian reports two men who have yet to be identified traveled to the island from Barcelona Tuesday to climb sea cliffs near the town of Portocolom. The unnamed men were reportedly aged 25 and 35.
The two were reportedly practicing deep-water soloing, also known as psicobloc, which is a form of rock climbing that relies upon the presence of water at the base of a cliff to protect against injury from falls.

Authorities said swimmers in the area noticed a body floating in the area Tuesday afternoon.
“A local lifeguard and some nearby swimmers provided him with first aid but were unable to revive him,” a spokesperson for the Guardia Civil in Mallorca said, according to The Guardian.
“Then another body was spotted closer to the cave. The maritime rescue service arrived but there was nothing more to be done,” authorities said.
The bodies were recovered and taken to the nearby town of Portocolom.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
