The woman, who is reportedly in her 50s, was taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries to her arms. She is in stable condition, according to The Associated Press (AP).

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), through its Nuisance Alligator Program, has dispatched a trapper to remove the gator. An alligator is deemed a nuisance by the FWC if the animal is at least four feet in length and presents a threat to people or property. Individuals can inform authorities about a potential nuisance alligator by calling 866-392-4286.

The local CBS affiliate reported that a 10-foot, 11-inch alligator responsible for the attack was captured and killed Monday morning.
