A teenager was duct taped to his seat during an American Airlines flight, as the plane was traveling from Maui to Los Angeles.
The boy was restrained after he tried to kick out the window next to his seat and became physical with his mother, CBS Los Angeles reported.

A clip shows an airline staff member approaching the boy with tape while two to three passengers restrain him.
The boy was taken into custody in Honolulu, CBS Los Angeles reported, adding that no one was injured.
“Customers were re-accommodated on other flights or provided hotel accommodations,” an American Airlines representative said. “Safety and security is our top priority and we apologize to our customers for any inconvenience this caused.”
The plane landed in Honolulu at 3:47 p.m. after the flight was diverted “due to an incident with a passenger on board.”
This is not the first time this month that airline staff members had to use duct tape to prevent unruly behavior.
During a Frontier Airlines flight to Miami in July, staff had to strap a man to his seat after he punched at a flight attendant, Business Insider reported.
He was also accused of inappropriately touching female crew members and removing his shirt.
In another incident in July, a woman was taped to her seat after she tried to exit the plane during an American Airlines flight and attacked flight attendants.
The incident was caught and posted on TikTok, Business Insider reported.
