Teen climate activist Greta Thunberg said Tuesday it’s “extremely” likely that she became infected with COVID-19 on a recent trip to central Europe.

In an Instagram post, the Swedish teenager said both she and her father have experienced coronavirus symptoms.

“I was feeling tired, had shivers, a sore throat and coughed,” Thunberg wrote. “My dad experienced the same symptoms, but much more intense and with a fever.”

Thunberg said she had been self-isolating in a borrowed apartment away from her mother and sister since she also visited Germany, which at the time was one of the hardest-hit countries in Europe.

She said her symptoms were so mild she would hardly notice them under normal circumstances.

“Many (especially young people) might not notice any symptoms at all, or very mild symptoms,” she wrote in her Instagram post. “Please keep that in mind, follow the advice from experts and your local authorities and #StayAtHome to slow the spread of the virus.”

Sweden has more than 2,200 confirmed coronavirus cases with at least 36 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University
