“To be eligible, you have got to get your first shot,” said Justice. “When I start through these prizes … there’s going to be a run on people getting their first shot. So go get ’em. Go get ’em so you’ll be eligible where we can draw your name, and absolutely you could win something that would be phenomenal.”
The June 20 prizes include five customized hunting rifles, five customized hunting shotguns, two pickup trucks, five lifetime hunting and fishing permits and one $1 million grand prize.
For vaccinated West Virginians between the ages of 12 and 25, there are also two four-year scholarships for any educational institution in the state up for grabs.

The lottery is open to all residents who have received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine, including those who received it in the winter.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 51 percent of West Virginia residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
West Virginia’s lottery is similar to Ohio’s Vax-a-Million lottery, which gives vaccinated residents the chance of winning $1 million in one of five weekly drawings and vaccinated youth between the ages of 12 and 17 a chance to win a four-year college scholarship.
“I can’t stand for Ohio to get ahead of us on anything,” Justice said.
