The New Face of America: Celebrating Latino Leaders
This September, The Hill Latino is marked the start of Hispanic Heritage Month with a reception honoring the contributions of Latinos in Washington, DC and beyond.
People of Hispanic origin are the largest ethnic minority in the United States today, making up about 18 percent of the population. Their numbers are expected to grow to nearly 119 million by the year 2060. America’s changing demographics are reshaping society, politics and the economy, creating opportunities and challenges for leaders in government and Congress.
Invited guests met for networking, refreshments, and a conversation about how national, state and local officials, policy makers, and business leaders can better address the issues that matter to an increasingly diverse American population.
