What’s America Thinking: Young Voters of Today, Political Leaders of Tomorrow

Originally, we had the two oldest presidential candidates on the ballot for this Fall’s election, but it’s the country’s youngest voters that could play a pivotal role in the outcome of the election. According to Census data, Gen Z voted at a higher rate in 2022 than Millennials, Gen X, and even Boomers did in their generations’ first midterm elections. This trend is likely to continue come November as 16 million young Americans will be able to vote in their very first presidential election.

How Gen Z will vote is an entirely different question. What are the issues most important to America’s youngest voters? Do they feel represented in the electoral process? And just how bad is their growing criticism and distrust of elected officials today? And what are they looking for in public officials?

Join The HiIl, in partnership with American University’s Sine Institute of Policy & Politics, to dive into the third annual Sine Institute poll and uncover what young Americans are thinking today when it comes to elected officials and how their priorities could impact the future of U.S. leadership tomorrow.
