Actor Tom Arnold said in an interview Tuesday that President Trump should be disqualified from office because they are acquainted with many of the same people.
“The fact that Donald Trump and I have so many people in common should disqualify him for office,” Arnold told Hill.TV’s Alison Spann.
“The best way I can be of service, and I love being of service, is to just do stuff like this [interview], and help out people, and be a good father, and vote, and get people to vote,” he continued, when asked whether he would consider running for office.
Arnold, like many members of Hollywood, have been outspoken critics of Trump and his administration.
Trump has hit back against his critics in Hollywood, claiming that they are out of touch with much of the country.
The president has been tied to the entertainment industry for decades, appearing in movies and starring in “The Apprentice” reality series.
Arnold’s comments come as voters across the country cast ballots in this year’s midterm elections.
The election is widely expected to be a referendum on Trump’s first two years in office.
Arnold’s interview was a part of Hill.TV’s election special Pollywood, which covers the intersection of politics and pop culture.
