A highly anticipated department of justice document was made public days ago when the Department of Justice released a warrant application to give the FBI permission to surveil Carter Page, a former adviser to President Donald Trump, who has been accused of being manipulated by Russian intelligence.
Republican elected officials and other Trump allies have raised questions about the application, claiming that it was based primarily on unconfirmed research that was paid for by Democrats. Earlier this year, Republicans and Democratic members of the House Intelligence Committee released separate and conflicting reports on the matter. This week, the Department of Justice released a redacted version of the secret warrant application that both parties have seized upon.
Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) joined “Rising” co-host Buck Sexton to discuss the dispute and the congressman’s hope that Trump will declassify even more portions of the warrant request. Nunes also discussed accusations from House Republicans that Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has withheld relevant documents from congressional investigators, leading some to call for his impeachment.
