President Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said in an interview Thursday that former White House press secretary Sean Spicer only worked in the Trump administration to advance his own agenda.
“I think it’s very fair to remind people that Sean Spicer is a part of the November 9th Club,” Lewandowski told Hill.TV’s Buck Sexton and Jamal Simmons on “Rising.”
“He came to the Trump organization after Trump got elected, and just days before the election, he was telling everybody ‘Donald Trump’s going to lose this election,'”Lewandowski said.
Lewandowski and former deputy campaign chairman David Bossie are promoting their new book, “Trump’s Enemies,” which claims that the press, the intelligence community and members of the Republican Party are working against Trump. The two co-authors make reference to the “November 9th Club” in the book, referring to people who joined Trump after he was elected on Nov. 8, 2016.
“The RNC did everything they could to help Senate candidates and House candidates,” Lewandowski said, referring to Spicer’s time as communications director of the Republican National Committee during the 2016 campaign.
Spicer did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
“Sean was never on the Trump team, and I think he went into the White House to further his own agenda, not the agenda of the president,” Lewandowski added. “Others have done that too — Gary Cohn, Rob Porter. We know who those people are. They’re a part of the November 9th Club, who did a disservice to the president and ultimately his agenda.”
Spicer left the White House in July 2017 and now serves as a senior adviser on the pro-Trump America First PAC.
