Advocate Ben Brown told Hill.TV on Thursday he is happy with the attention 2020 Democratic primary candidates have given to issues impacting young people.
“What I’m very excited about, especially for my position at the Association for Young Americans, is the amount of time and energy and focus that is going to be given to the issues that young people care about,” Brown told hosts Krystal Ball and Buck Sexton on “Rising.”
“We’re already seeing a lot of the candidates working, and being very explicit, and focusing on issues that young people care about,” he continued.
“I’m very much looking forward to the issues facing young people being a priority in this election,” he said.
The Association for Young Americans advocates for Americans between the ages of 18 and 35, drawing attention to issues young voters care about.
Brown, the group’s founder, said members of his organization tend to care about issues such as climate change and student debt, as well as voting rights.
The growing field of 2020 candidates has drawn attention to these issues, with a growing number signaling their support for student debt reform and the Green New Deal.
