Youtube’s terms of service cite bigotry as not allowed but on the other hand it’s a giant site too large for a human to moderate. Issue with youtube algorithm is that it’s too simple to catch the problematic videos. Automated moderation ends up inadvertently banning a lot of stuff we don’t want to ban while not banning the stuff we want it to. Videos pull back from the Siren song of the far right movement.Understanding Trump voters and incels is a lot of the same things. There’s this sense of being robbed of an inheritance or something deserved. Leftists have less of a feel for the rhetorical skill of politicians on the right. These attacks go right to the lizard brain of the average person. A big mouthed showman will have less of an effect the second time.
