The Hill and HarrisX released a poll Friday that asked registered voters if they thought there were too many Democratic primary debates.
The majority of voters said yes.
Overall, 52 percent of voters said that there were “too many” debates, 32 percent said there were a “right amount” of debates and 16 percent said there were “too few” debates.
In total, there will be 12 Democratic primary debates before the party chooses its presidential nominee. So far, there have been four. This month’s debate will be held in Atlanta and moderated by MSNBC and The Washington Post.
The December debate will be held on the campus of UCLA and be moderated by “PBS NewsHour” and Politico.
Nine Democratic candidates have qualified for the November debate and four have qualified for the December debate.
This survey was conducted online within the United States from October 28-29, 2019 among 1,000 registered voters by HarrisX. The sampling margin of error of this poll is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points. The results reflect a nationally representative sample of registered voters. Results were weighted for age within gender, region, race/ethnicity, income, political party, and education where necessary to align them with their actual proportions in the population.
