Nina Turner, the former co-chairperson of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-Vt.) presidential campaign, said former Vice President Joe Biden must prioritize picking a progressive as a running mate over a woman of color.
“Issues first, and then after that certainly people want to see themselves reflected,” Turner said on Hill.TV’s “Rising.”
“It is high time in this country, absolutely, that there is more color at the top. But color for the sake of color when you’re going to continue to do the same things does not change the material conditions of the lives of the people in this country.”
