Democrat running against Pelosi criticizes coronavirus relief bill’s tax cuts

California congressional candidate Shahid Buttar (D) who is running against Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D) in the state’s primary election, criticized the coronavirus relief bill for giving tax breaks to millionaires.

“At the same time that the coronavirus stimulus package allowed a $1200, one-time stimulus payment for some Americans, 40,000 millionaires got tax breaks of over a million dollars,” Buttar told Hill.TV on Thursday.

Buttar noted that $1,200 was roughly about two weeks worth of rent in San Francisco, which Pelosi’s 12th District almost entirely encompasses.
