MSNBC guest on how a Twitter fight with Joe Scarborough helped him land on the network

Pundit Anand Giridharadas said Monday a Twitter fight with MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough helped him get his start in cable news.

“I kind of got my start in cable news on MSNBC five years ago by actually getting into a fight with Joe Scarborough on Twitter about something and wrote in The New York Times,” Giridharadas said Monday in an interview with The Hill.TV’s “Rising.”

“To Joe’s credit, he invited me on to say, ‘Let’s actually have this argument.’ Very rare spirit in these times when you disagree to say, ‘Let’s actually have a conversation.’ And we did and that kind of led to me being on MSNBC for several years,” Giridharadas added.

Giridharadas is now hosting a show called “Seat at the Table” for VICE TV.
