Mike Briohier, a Democrat challenging Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), was endorsed by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang.
Both Yang and Briohier agree on having a federal universal basic income, which Yang made a pillar of his White House bid.
“When you pose the question, people say their life would be significantly different, but not once do people say ‘I’m never going to work again,’” Briohier said on Hill TV’s “Rising” Friday.
Kentucky’s primary is taking place June 24. Briohier is one of a handful of Democrats seeking the party’s nomination, with Amy McGrath leading in polls. Both Briohier and McGrath are Marine veterans.
