Conservative policy director says Trump camp right to put ads on hold

Rachel Bovard, the senior director of policy at the Conservative Partnership Institute, said she thinks it is a good idea for President Trump’s reelection campaign to put its ads on hold as it readjusts its messaging.

“I don’t think it’s a bad thing that they’re doing this. I’m actually encouraged,” she said on Hill.TV’s “Rising” on Friday, pointing to the unpredictable nature of the race. “I think it’s totally appropriate to reset.”

A campaign official told NBC News on Thursday that the campaign has paused its digital advertising efforts in order to “review” its strategy. Earlier this month the campaign also halted new ad buys in Michigan.
