Environmental activist Erin Brockovich discussed with Hill.TV the importance of community involvement to help solve local water crisis.
Brockovich, author of the new book “Superman’s Not Coming: Our National Water Crisis and What We the People Can Do About It,” said in an interview that communities should get involved in local and state politics to push for changes.
She added that persistent fights and blame games at the national level are hindering progress toward a solution.
“I’m really perplexed at why, at every level, on both sides of the aisle, we don’t start addressing this issue in this country, because we’ll [otherwise] have continual water failure on top of already massive pollution,” she said.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, more than 30 million Americans last year lived in areas that violated water safety laws rules.
