Comedian Andrew Schulz discusses new standup special

Comedian Andrew Schulz discussed his new Netflix special “Schulz Saves America” with The Hill.TV’s Saager Engeti.

The special features Schulz ranting about some of the most divisive topics in American politics and popular culture, including Jeffery Epstein and the 2020 election.

Schulz said he was not “able to get on” a network, so he either had to change his comedy style or find another medium to release his content, so he started to put clips on Instagram and YouTube.

That’s how he became the most-viewed stand-up comedian on YouTube in 2018 and 2019.

Schulz said that he doesn’t get validation from being on a network, but from “touching” people through his comedy.

“If the people care about what I’m doing and appreciate what I’m doing, then that’s enough validation for me,” he said.

Schulz said that he is proud of his comedy special because he was able to do the show that he wanted to do. He added that, “the whole journey was about doing the comedy that I believe in.”

“Schulz Saves America” premiered on Thursday.
