Progressive activist and filmmaker Michael Moore on Thursday said that he believes continued hesitancy among Americans to get the COVID-19 vaccine stems from a growing mistrust in the government, calling it a “dark moment” for the country.
In an interview on Hill.TV’s “Rising,” Moore argued that while human beings “are wired to be most concerned with our own,” some people are putting their own family members at risk by taking the attitude of, “I don’t care. I’m not going to get vaccinated, either for political reasons or I’m afraid to get vaccinated and I don’t believe the government anymore.”
“People now don’t trust the government … especially the Trumpsters,” he said. “They don’t believe the results of the election, they don’t want to get vaccinated.
“We’re in a dark moment here,” he added.
