The summer wedding season is almost over, but today “What America’s Thinking” took a look at the most banned wedding songs. We asked our panel of pollsters, Chris Wilson of WPA Research and Carly Cooperman of Schoen Consulting, which of the following songs is most often banned at weddings?
“Macarena?” “YMCA?” “The Chicken Dance” or the “Cha-Cha Slide?”
According to a 2017 survey of wedding deejays by FiveThirtyEight, “The Chicken Dance” topped the list, with 23.1 percent of emcees saying they’ve seen it prohibited at nuptials they’ve worked. “Cha-Cha Slide” was close behind with 22.5 percent saying it’s been banned at weddings they have worked.
