Just 11 percent of respondents say they’d bribe someone to get their child in an elite university, according to a new Hill-HarrisX survey released on Friday.
Eight-three percent of respondents said they would not pay a bribe to win admission for their kids to a top school.
The poll comes weeks after 50 people, including actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman, were charged in what has been dubbed the “largest college admissions scam ever prosecuted by the Department of Justice.”
The scam involved bribing coaches to recruit students for athletic programs and cheating on college entrance exams so their children could gain entrance into top universities.
This survey was conducted online within the United States from March 16-17, 2019 among 1,000 registered voters by HarrisX. The sampling margin of error of this poll is plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
