Democratic voters are more concerned with finding the right candidate to beat President Trump than the recent allegations against former Vice President Joe Biden, political reporter Eli Yokley told Hill.TV on Wednesday.
Yokley, a reporter at Morning Consult, told Hill.TV’s Jamal Simmons that a new Morning Consult poll asked Democratic voters if they care about Biden and Trump’s relationship with women, or if they care more about their policies.
“The No. 1 thing that mattered is how Donald Trump is going to lead this country. That is what’s on the mind of Democratic voters — Democratic women, women generally — and voters overall. They want to beat Donald Trump,” he said.
The Politico/Morning Consult survey, which was released Wednesday, found that half of Democratic respondents said the allegations against Biden, who has yet to launch a presidential bid, would not impact their vote, while 29 percent said the allegations of inappropriate touching would make them less likely to vote for Biden.
Fourteen percent of respondents said the allegations make them “much less likely” to vote for Biden.
