Pollster Dritan Nesho said in an interview that aired Friday on “What America’s Thinking” that there is “investigation fatigue” among the American people after roughly two years of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe.
“What we saw is general acceptance, and we also saw that less than 2 in 10 voters now believe that there was any evidence of collusion,” Nesho, CEO of HarrisX, told Hill.TV’s Jamal Simmons on Wednesday, referring to a Harvard Caps/HarrisX poll released last month.
“The numbers — 65 percent of voters saying that the investigation is hurting the country, are very much in line with that. There is acceptance and there is a little bit of investigation fatigue at play,” he continued.
“It’ll be interesting to see how the newly released report changes those metrics.”
Nesho’s interview was recorded before Attorney General William Barr on Thursday released a redacted version of Mueller’s long-anticipated report.
The special counsel’s office detailed Russian efforts to try to help Trump win the 2016 election, but said the Trump campaign did not directly assist Moscow in that effort.
