Zaid Jilani discusses Trump’s move to cancel racial sensitivity training at federal agencies

Journalist Zaid Jilani discussed on Hill.TV’s “Rising” the Trump administration’s reported directive to federal agencies to cancel employee racial sensitivity training.

Jilani said Wednesday there is “some justification” for analyzing the trainings to make sure they are “somewhat effective.”

The journalist also discussed President Trump’s threat to withhold funding from California school districts that incorporate The New York Times’s 1619 Project in classrooms.

He said Trump’s threat over the 1619 project is “probably a bit of an overreach,” adding that local districts and states have the right to teach curriculum as they see fit.
