An overwhelming majority of voters are concerned about violence in the lead-up to President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, a new Hill-HarrisX poll finds.
Seventy-three percent of registered voters in the Jan. 8-11 survey said they are very or somewhat concerned about more violence ahead of Inauguration Day.
By contrast, 27 percent of respondents said they are not very or not at all concerned.
Eighty-seven percent of Democrats said they are worried about more violence leading up to Inauguration Day, including 54 percent who said they are very concerned.
Seventy-five percent of independents also said they are concerned along with 59 percent of Republicans.
More threats of violence have surfaced following the Jan. 6 mob attack on the Capitol.
Biden is expected to be sworn into office on Jan. 20.
The Hill-HarrisX poll was conducted online among 2,854 registered voters. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.8 percentage points.
