President Biden’s approval number has slipped 5 percentage points to 42 percent support in a new Hill-HarrisX poll.
Forty-seven percent of registered voters in the Oct. 20-23 survey said they disapprove of the president, while 11 percent said they neither approve nor disapprove.
A Sept. 24-25 Hill-HarrisX poll found that 42 percent of voters disapprove of Biden’s job as president, while 11 percent said they neither approve or disapprove.
More voters said they disapprove than approve of Biden’s handling of certain issues in this newest survey, except on the issue of handling the coronavirus pandemic.
Forty-five percent of voters approve of Biden’s handling the virus while 40 percent disapprove and 15 percent neither approve nor disapprove.
Meanwhile, forty-eight percent of voters said they disapprove of Biden on inflation, while 31 percent said they approve and 21 percent said neither.
On the issue of supply chain management, 46 percent of respondents said they disapprove of Biden’s handling of the issue, while 32 percent said they approve and 22 percent said neither.
“President Biden’s job approval ratings continue to drop, hitting a new low at 42 percent in our poll. He’s down 20 plus points from his highs during the first 100 days in office, and he has suffered a striking 30 points drop with independents which spells trouble for democrats heading into the 2022 midterms,” Dritan Nesho, CEO and chief pollster at HarrisX, told Hill.TV.
Thursday, Biden announced a $1.75 trillion social spending and climate plan to Democrats that has been heavily slimmed down after concessions to moderate senators.
The most recent Hill-HarrisX poll was conducted online among 2,727 registered voters between Oct. 20 and 23. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.88 percentage points.
