Now that her older daughter’s behind the wheel, Michelle Obama has a warning for drivers in the nation’s capital, “Look out, D.C.!”
{mosads}“I’ve got a driver, a 16-year-old driving around,” the first lady said Monday in an interview with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan on “Live With Kelly and Michael.”
Obama said of Malia, “She always has security around, but in order for her to learn how to drive, she had to drive on her own.”
The first lady says when it comes to dishing out driving advice and lessons, her personal tank is pretty empty.
“[Malia] asked me things like, ‘How do you park in a public lot?’ And I’m like, ‘Oh that’s right, you don’t know how to do those things.’ But I’m like, I barely know now too, so I have to check with other sources.”
Obama continued, “It’s like how does this stuff work these days? I haven’t driven in like seven years.”
The executive mansion resident also scoffed at Malia and Sasha, 13, being included in Time magazine’s 2014 list of the most influential teens, saying, “They’re not influential. They just live here.”
She added with a laugh, “They have done nothing to gain any influence.”
