CNN hires ex-Trump aide Lewandowski: report

Donald Trump’s former campaign manager is joining CNN as a political commentator, Politico reported.

Corey Lewandowski, who was fired from the Trump campaign Monday, will work in a salaried position and be exclusive to CNN, the report said.

{mosads}Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, let go of Lewandowski after a series of meetings between the campaign’s top officials.

Lewandowski praised Trump on his way out, saying it had been an “honor and a privilege to be part of” his campaign.

He also said he would do whatever he could to help Trump win the White House, even without his formal role within the campaign.

After Lewandowski was fired, Trump said he had done a “great job,” but that the campaign was going to go in a “little bit of a different route.”

Rick Tyler, who was communications director for Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-Texas) presidential campaign before being fired in February, similarly joined MSNBC as a political contributor after leaving the campaign.
