Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump, on Monday defended the presumptive GOP presidential candidate’s standing in the race despite Hillary Clinton’s huge fundraising lead.

“Money is flying in, people are excited,” Eric Trump said of his father’s campaign during an appearance on “Fox and Friends,” adding that “the amount of small donations that we’re getting online is astronomical.”

{mosads}Donald Trump’s campaign reported dismal fundraising numbers for May, leaving the campaign with just $1.3 million in the bank compared to $42.5 million for Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee, according to finance reports.

The businessman’s campaign has looked to shed the perception that it has a money problem, emphasizing that it started fundraising May 28.

Eric Trump said Monday that the campaign raised $6 million at a “small event” in New York last week, followed by several more million raised online and from Donald Trump himself.

Trump, whose campaign website has prominently included donation buttons, has begun fundraising through social media and over email.

Trump’s convention manager, Paul Manafort, has teased “major announcements” coming this week about the campaign’s leadership.
