A woman in the audience at a Donald Trump event in New Hampshire on Friday pushed the presumptive Republican presidential nominee to ban Muslims from working airport security.
“Homeland security and jobs — why aren’t we putting our military retirees on that border or in TSA?” the audience member asked. “Get rid of all these hibijabies they wear at TSA. I’ve seen them myself,” she added as she motioned to her head, presumably referring to a hijab.
{mosads}“We need the veterans back in there — they fought for this country and defended it. They’ll still do it,” she continued.
“We are looking at that,” Trump responded.
This is not the first time Trump has declined to push back at a questioner wanting to “get rid of” Muslims.
“We’re going to be looking at a lot of different things,” Trump responded in September when a man asked him “when can we get rid of them?”
2008 GOP nominee Sen John McCain (Ariz.) also had interactions with supporters who were accused of Islamophobia, at one point taking a microphone away from a woman who called President Obama an “Arab.”
