Gingrich to campaign with Trump

Newt Gingrich is slated to campaign with GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump this week amid intense speculation over whom Trump will pick as his running mate.

The former Speaker will appear with Trump in Ohio, a campaign spokesperson told CNN. Trump is scheduled to hold a rally Wednesday evening in Cincinnati.

{mosads}Gingrich is a top contender to join the ticket with Trump, who is expected to announce his pick sometime between now and the start of the party’s national convention on July 18.
 
Trump is campaigning Tuesday with Sen. Bob Corker (Tenn.), another potential running mate, in North Carolina. The businessman is holding a rally in the evening in Raleigh.
Other potential VP picks include New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Sen. Joni Ernst (Iowa), Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin and Sens. Jeff Sessions (Ala.) and Tom Cotton (Ark.). Trump met with Ernst on Monday and with Pence over the weekend.
