Obama: ‘Sasha tweets’ but that doesn’t make her qualified to be president

President Obama on Tuesday pointed to his daughter’s social media use to mock Donald Trump.

During his first campaign appearance for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, Obama said Trump is just as qualified to serve as president as his 15-year-old daughter Sasha.

{mosads}“Everybody can tweet, but nobody actually knows what it takes to do the job until you’ve sat behind the desk,” Obama told a crowd in Charlotte, N.C.

“I mean, Sasha tweets, but she doesn’t think that she’s thereby should be sitting behind the desk.”

In contrast, Obama said Clinton is more than ready to take his place. He cited her work on healthcare and education, as well as her performance under pressure during the lead up to the raid that killed Osama Bin Laden.

“There has never been a man or woman more qualified for this office than Hillary Clinton. Ever. And that’s the truth,” the president said.

It’s not clear what account the youngest Obama daughter uses to tweet. The @sashaobama handle is suspended by Twitter, and there is no account verified by Twitter as belonging to Sasha Obama.

Obama continued his attacks on Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, through the event, though not mentioning his name. He slammed those who promote ”a path that divides us with harsh rhetoric.”

“I’m going a little of script here, but I just want to repeat this — if your concern is working people, then this is not a choice. I don’t care if you are black, white, Hispanic, Native American, polka-dot, male, female, I don’t care,” he said.

“If what you care is who is going to be fighting for ordinary folks who are fighting for a better life for themselves and their children, then I don’t know how you vote for the guy who is against the minimum wage, against unions, against making sure that everybody gets a fair shot.”
