Eric Trump says father donates ‘millions and millions and millions’

Donald Trump’s son says his father gives “millions and millions and millions” to charity, according to The Washington Post.

Eric Trump told the newspaper that his father donated massive amounts to his own charitable fund but refused to provide any documented evidence of Donald Trump actually doing so.

{mosads}”My father has given me and my foundation hundreds of thousands of dollars. And he’s given other charities millions and millions and millions of dollars,” Eric Trump told the Post.

He explained that the reason the donations are private is because his father “likes to keep some anonymity” and because “it’s who he is as a person.”

Over the last month, both Eric and Donald Trump have come under fire for allegedly misusing charity money.

The Post on Wednesday published a 2014 tax return showing that the Eric Trump Foundation gave $87,665 to one of Donald Trump’s golf courses.

Eric Trump dismissed the accusations as simply “disgusting.”

“It’s disgusting. It is so disgusting what’s happening,” he said. “I’m saving dying children. We do tremendous good for people. And you’re sitting there tearing us apart.”

The Washington Post reported in June that out of 200 charities that had ties with Donald Trump between 2008 and this May, there is only one documented private donation of $10,000.

Eric Trump also attempted to defend his father’s controversial purchase of a helmet and jersey signed by Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.

The purchase took place at a charity auction and cost Trump nearly $12,000, a figure that was subsequently paid by his own charitable foundation.

Both Eric and Donald Trump claimed that the helmet was given back to the charity as a “present;” however, the tax records discovered by Washington Post show no charitable gifts from Trump were made to his own foundation since 2008.

Trump’s campaign revoked the Post’s press credentials last month after a series of reports critical of him.
