Dallas police chief defends use of robot to kill shooting suspect

Dallas Police Chief David Brown early Sunday strongly defended his department’s use of a robot with an explosive to kill shooting suspect Micah Xavier Johnson.

{mosads}“You have to trust your people to make the calls necessary to save their lives,” Brown said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“That’s not worth my time to debate at this point,” Brown added. “We believe that we saved lives by making this decision.”

Johnson was killed after an attack late Thursday in which five Dallas police officers were shot and killed, in protest of the shooting deaths of two black men last week in Louisiana and Minnesota.
