Poll: Clinton leads Trump in Nevada

Hillary Clinton owns a slim 4-point lead over Donald Trump in Nevada, according to a new poll.

Clinton receives 45 percent support to Trump’s 41 percent in the Monmouth University survey released on Monday.

{mosads}Five percent said they plan on voting for Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson instead.

Four percent say they will choose “none of these candidates,” a ballot option unique to Nevada.

Monmouth University said “none of these candidates” has historically received less than 1 percent in recent presidential contests.

It did register 2 percent in the 1988 cycle, however, and neared 5 percent of the total vote as recently as the 2012 Senate race.

Pollsters found Nevada voters are largely unsatisfied with Clinton and Trump.

Fifty-four percent of those polled say they view Clinton unfavorably, and 34 percent see the presumptive Democratic nominee favorably.

Fifty-three percent see Trump unfavorably, compared with 35 percent who hold a favorable opinion of the GOP’s presumptive nominee.

Forty percent believe it is “very important” Clinton is kept from winning the presidency, while 46 percent say the same of Trump.

Monday’s results also found 37 percent feel Clinton is more likely to help “the little guy” as president.

Thirty-one percent say that better describes Trump, 4 percent say it describes both candidates equally, and 27 percent say it describes neither.

Pollsters additionally found that nearly half of Nevada’s voters believe Clinton acted criminally by using a private email server when she was secretary of State.

Forty-four percent think she used the device criminally, and 27 percent say she showed poor judgment; 13 percent say she did nothing out of the ordinary, and 16 percent had no opinion.

Monmouth University conducted its latest sampling of 408 likely Nevada voters via cellphone and land line telephone interviews from July 7-10. It had a 4.9 percentage point margin of error.
